“I have always wanted to pursue higher education and make a positive impact in my community. Growing up in a low-income household, I have faced numerous challenges. Higher education has always been presented as the key to unlocking a better future, and while I don't fully agree with that, I do believe it can help shape your future. I think it is more important to learn things you don't know and want to learn. During my high school and university years, I was actively involved in various extracurricular activities, including volunteering and seeking ways to improve my education. Through these experiences, I developed strong skills and a commitment to service. The Jamies Craig Scholarship not only provided me with financial support but also helped me recognize the effort and work I had put in during high school. Every step I took was not just working towards obtaining a degree, but also striving to better myself for others and for personal growth. I learned how to collaborate with others and how to thrive in an open, free environment. The scholarship has continued to support me, teaching me how to express myself and collaborate with others. It has helped me understand that what we do with our lives matters to others, and that we are not alone—someone is supporting us. We have someone to help us, whether it's a parent, teacher, mentor, friend, or someone else. It’s important to recognize and acknowledge our support network.”
